Responsible Business
We believe in sustainability and we take responsible business seriously. All by SAARINEN products are made to last! Therefore our products are produced by highly skilled collaborators, environmentally and socially responsible companies from Finland. Our prestigious collaborators – Piiroinen Oy and Koskisen Oy – have a wealth of heritage and experience in furniture manufacturing industry. They both have an environmental policy based on an environmental management system that meets the SFS-EN ISO 14001 standard. Koskisen was actually the first Finnish mechanical wood industry company to be granted an ISO 14001-Certificate in 1997 for the recognition of their environmentally friendly operations. In addition, both companies apply the ISO 9001:2000 standard quality system.
Our production of wooden furniture is done by Piiroinen Oy, located in the South-West of Finland. Piiroinen is an environmentally and socially responsible company staffed by skilled personnel capable of producing furniture products of almost any kind. In addition to the manufacturing process, the quality of our products is the outcome of usage of Finnish high-quality ingredients – produced by Koskisen Oy. PEFC and FSC certifications ensure that the wood comes from responsibly managed forests. Koskisen Oy is also involved in the Finnish Ministry of the Environment’s ”Agreement2050” project, through which their goal is to increase the proportion of energy waste in our total waste volume.
